Evaluation of complaints and spontaneous vestibular signs of patients
Abstract
A questionnaire was filled on vertiginous complaints and panic
disorder by our patients. In group I. (panic disease with consecutive
vertigo) and II. (vertiginous patients with secondary panic disorders)
results were compared. We have found that there was only a negligible
difference between the groups. The feeling of nausea suggests that
vertigo has a main role in the second cohort. The different types of
dizziness are more characteristic in group II. The feeling of
instability is the main complaint in both groups but the number of
characteristic deviation is more significant in group II. In group II
results of Romberg position also suggest that peripheral or central
vertigo plays an important role. The weak possibility of organic
vertigo as the origin of panic disorder could be revealed in group II.
Oppositely, we found organic signs of vertigo in patients suffering
from panic disorder.
