Audiometric control in telemarketing
Abstract
Objective: This work intends to find hearing loss or audiometric shifts in a group of telemarketing operators.
Method: 93 operators who work in three different departments of a telemarketing company had their admission audiometries compared to their first and second year post-admission audiometries. Their ages varied from 19 to 45 years. Results: Only 7,52% of the operators presented hear loss in their sequencial audiometries, but 35,48% presented a downward shift of their hearing thresholds. Conclusion: The number of sensorineural hearing losses was small, but more than one-third of the operators presented shifts of their hearing levels. It is possible that present shifts in audiometric thresholds will become sensorineural hearing losses in the future
