Predisposition to vertigo-based on the vessel extension test
Abstract
Phlethysmogram monitoring degree of the vessel extension would show condition of the blood flow. Impaired blood flow in the peripheral and central vestibular system is one of the major causes of acute onset of vertigo. In younger patients, phlethysmogram sometimes showed unbalance of the blood flow in the right and left side. Surprisingly the side of the impaired blood flow in the periphery is often the same as the impaired peripheral vestibular side. In young patients with dizziness induced by standing for a longer time, insufficiency in the systemic blood flow appeared with dizziness and disappeared with improvement in dizziness.
Phlethysmogram would be a useful test for monitoring the impaired systemic blood flow in dizziness patients.
