Abstract
Vestibular rehabilitation is a treatment method useful in some specific pacients with vestibular disorders who still complaint of dizziness or disequilibrium after at least 3 month of medical or surgical correct treatment.
Vestibular rehabilitation consists of custom-designed daily physical exercises and specific trening exercises three times a week on a special computerized equipment, under ENT physician supervision.
Bilateral peripheral vestibular damaging after ototoxic medication is one of the diseases Vestibular Rehabilitation is suitable for.
The goal of these exercises is to retrain patients to mantain balance and decrease dizziness using at maximum level of functionality the proprioceptive and vizual input. By Vestibular Rehabilitation patients become able to make use of their voluntar control movements in order to mantain stance and improve balance in daily activities.
