Doppler sonography in tinnitus patients
Abstract
The tinnitus can be functionally measured and localized through sensorymotor and neurosensorial tests.
According to our Data Bank, 60% of the patients requiring a consultation show cardiocirculatory background. This figure has moved us to study cerebral vascular processes on those patients consulting only on tinnitus symptom.
The sudden appearance of the tinnitus symptom alone, independently of the age of the patient leads to think on a pathology of vascular origin which should be evaluated and treated immediately.
A mistake and/or delay in the diagnose turns the symptom into chronic due to the appeareance of microlesions at any level of the auditory via, as it has been demonstrated in former investigations.
