Ozone- and pressure-pulse therapy in meniere’s disease
Abstract
The aim of the study was to evaluate the usefulness of ozone- and pressure-pulse therapy in Meniere’s disease. 15 patients ( 8 men, 7 women) suffering from Meniere’ s disease for 1 to 3 years with permanent sensorineural hypoacusis were tested using objective otoacoustic emissions and SISI test together with subjective anamnesis comparing results before and after treatment. Ozone therapy and pressure-pulse treatments were performed simultaneously 10 minutes, day by day, 10 times. After treatment both otoacoustic- spontaneous and transiently evoked- emissions and SISI test did not change with statistical significance. But subjective state of the patients was clearly better. The frequency, severity of attacks and tinnitus decreased. The mechanism of such an improvement was discussed.
